Intellectual Property Rights of Digital Resources
Digital libraries are units that choose and organize resources with the help of specialized staff. This library provides easy access to thoughts, interpretations and are responsible for the distribution and intact maintenance of digital and intellectual resources.
 
Definitions:
Intellectual property: including works of literature, art, science, films, recorded voices, radio programs, patents, plans, brands, protection against unfair competition, which are the result of intellectual activity in the fields of industry, literature, and arts.
Digital resources: large amount of data stored in electronic databases as multimedia, listening, video, image, written text, and various types of information.
 
Article 1: According to the resolution 1973 which is observed in Tabriz University of Medical Sciences, any sorts of copy, reproduction, distribution and downloading of all copyrighted material is prohibited except for written consent from the author. Copyright compliance is mandatory for all educational and research activities, and all resources either physical or electronic used by users and researchers in the university.
Article 2: according to the legal restrictions on the use of purchased electronic resources, only the users (researchers, faculty members, and students) of Tabriz University of Medical Sciences are permitted to access the resources via a specific username assigned to them.
Article 3: any commercial use of electronic resources is prohibited.
According to the regulations on electronic resources of the university, users are not permitted to share a resource or part of it on social media, expose their credentials to unauthorized individuals, download for sale or reproduce the resources, and redistribute it in other websites. In the case of any report of conflict, the punishment will be based on the conditions and regulations of the contracts between the university and the publisher. The central library is free to limit or restrict the access of violating users to the network and resources.
The present regulation including 1 section and 3 articles was approved by the first meeting of the research council of central library in 2018.
